Kristie and I just got home from our Christmas Vacation. A first for us. We spent the past few days at Hilton Head. It was so nice, despite the cold rain and windy weather most of the time. We did just fine in a condo that was way way above our station in life, but it was worth it. Besides we got a great price and it was huge and had two hot tubs in the apartment plus 100 channels.

I joined the Anderson Rec Center today. I guess it is a sort of pre New Years resolution. Kristie was already a member so we went together to acquaint me and to start my routine. After we rewarded ourselves by going to eat at Do Run Run.

Today is Underdogs day. Hurray for Underdog.

We met Amy, Joel and Ashley dinner at Master Wok. Then after we all came back to our house so Ashley could continue her tradition of decorating a tree at our house. Last year we started giving Ashley our smallest tree to decorate. She did a great job and we all had fun so now it as become a tradition. Then we gave the Monk her Christmas presents to play with. A KerPlunk game . And a stuffed PINK cuddle bear.

I was going to say little more about Amy's new job. She went to work with Anderson School district 5. Heading up the finance dept. It is going to be a lot more work for her, but I think it was the right move. Besides she is closer to Big Lots now.

Huckleberry Hound's father died today.
Joe Barbera, half of the Hanna-Barbera team died of natural causes at his home in Los Angeles. He was 95. Barbera and his partner the late William Hanna were the creators of many of my favorite cartoon characters. Tom and Jerry, Yogi Bear , Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, Mr Jinx, Pixie and Dixie, Hokey Wolf, Top Cat, Jonny Quest, Wakey Races, The Smurfs, Quick Draw McGraw, Josie and the Pussycats, Space Ghost,Pink Panther, Captain Caveman, The Hillbilly Bears, Wally Gator, The Atom Ant, Secret Squirrel, Squiddly Diddly, Sealab 2020, Peter Potamus, Johnny Bravo, The Powerpuff Girls, and many more.
He received at least eight Emmys, and eight Academy Award Oscars.

Thank you gentlemen for entertaining me with outstanding cartoons which had a moral basis. A lot of who I am is because of you. I love your "'children".

Yes!! It is Sunday, and as Ashley says, Yippe we get to go to church. Perry was speaking this morning about worry. It was a keeper ( aren't they all ) We sat with Shelley this morning. It was the first time I'd see her in several years. She and Kristie gotten together a few weeks ago along with Amy. And Kris had sat with her one Sunday while I was on camera. After Church we dashed home grabbing a quick bite of leftovers from yesterday's dinner then headed off to the Denver Christmas Parade. What a hoot. If you've never gone you should. It is a Red Neck tradition.

After we cleaned up from the Parade we dashed over to The Wood Auto Christmas party at the Golden Corral. It was wonderful folks to see the whole Wood family and some of the workers. I miss working with them a lot. I also thought it was nice of Terry and Bev to invite me and Kristie. I really wish we could get together more often. Those are truly good people. And always treat me like family. Thanks guys.

No Homegroup tonight. I miss everyone. Well I did see Eddie Monica, Sheila and Alvin at church, and Ben and Mahalie at the parade. Ben was driving his golf cart thingy.

It is time for our annual Christmas dinner at Mamaws. The whole gang gathered at Kristie's grandmothers for another round of stuffing ourselves to the gills. Then while the guys sleep through football, the ladies catch-up on who was born to who, and the kids run amok, we all make solemn vows not to ever eat like that again. Naturally we all know we will no matter how much we try. Can't be helped with a family this big all of whom cook world class good. Today there were 27 people there. Yes the crowd was off a little but Tonya' s family ( 4 ) were out of town, Allen's boy ( 4 more ) was at a school event, and Jeff's daughter and her husband were working.

Anderson University had their Christmas Party tonight and like always the food was good. Greg, Ken and Lindsey always out do expectations. They fixed stuffed chicken, roasted pork tenderloin and crabcakes. WOW ! Thanks to them and I will have to work three times as hard after the first of the year when my gym membership kicks in.
A record crowd attended and we sat with Dan and Claudia, John and Pam, Rosemary and the new H.R. head and her husband as wee as Dennis and Brenda McKee.
Dr Whitaker awarded the special staff awards as always and Dennis won a very deserving award for service to the school above and beyond the call of duty. Then in the shocker of the evening. Kristie was called up to receive Presidents Award for outstanding service to the University. Way to go honey ! I told you people noticed all those extra hours you put in this year. I love you and I am so proud of you and for you. You deserved it even if you don't believe it.
Well all had a nice time with music from the Music dept and an audience interactive program.
A first for me.

Life as we know on this planet is in serious trouble. Today I went to the store and they are still out of Fruity Pebbles. For more than a week now I have had to resort to eating Fruit Loops hoping the president or congress or someone would intervene and air lift a consigning before the chaos breaks loose. Fruit Loops are pretty good but really!!! They are a kids cereal not an adult cereal like Fruity Pebbles.
Beware this has all the earmarks of a Holiday terror plot of elf-ish dimensions.
